Are there any restrictions on the number of trades I can make in a week?
Am I able to short stock with my sub-contractor account?
Can I trade options, futures or FOREX with my sub-contractor account?
Can I trade non-marginable stocks?
How do I receive support once I begin trading?
Which ECNs are available via the direct access platforms?
Am I able to contact the broker to place trades over the phone if necessary?
 

 
ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON THE NUMBER OF TRADES I CAN MAKE IN A WEEK?
 
NO.  All sub-contractor accounts qualify as "pattern day trading" accounts and as a result do not impose any restrictions on the number of trades you may place in a week.  Conversely, sub-contractor accounts do not impose any minimum monthly trading activity.

AM I ABLE TO SHORT STOCK WITH MY SUB-CONTRACTOR ACCOUNT?
 
YES.  Just as with online and direct access trading accounts, sub-contractor accounts are set up to handle shorting of stock.

CAN I TRADE OPTIONS, FUTURES, OR FOREX WITH MY SUB-CONTRACTOR ACCOUNT?
 
Sub-contractor accounts are permissioned upon request for options trading.  However, futures and FOREX trading are not allowed on sub-contractor accounts.  If you are interested in trading futures or FOREX, please contact a WTC representative at 1.866.473.5069 for broker referrals.

CAN I TRADE NON-MARGINABLE STOCKS?
 
YES.  Sub-contracted traders are able to trade both marginable and non-marginable stocks.  However, leverage for non-marginable stocks is set to 4:1 intraday and 2:1 overnight.

HOW DO I RECEIVE SUPPORT ONCE I BEGIN TRADING?
 

Following account setup, you will receive full contact details for the selected NASD-approved broker-dealer, which will provide full trade support from 8am to 6pm EST.

WHICH ECNS ARE AVAILABLE VIA THE DIRECT ACCESS PLATFORMS?
 
Sub-contractors may choose from the following ECNs when executing trades with either Realtick or InstaQuote:

  • INET
  • EDGX
