WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SUB-CONTRACTOR ACCOUNTS AND ONLINE TRADING ACCOUNTS?

Sub-contractor accounts differ in several ways from either of the above online account types.  When you open a sub-contractor account, you are actually working as an independent contractor for one of our affiliate private capital firms.  These firms are private, non-licensed organizations and thus do not require you to maintain any securities licensing.  Your capital is deposited with these firms and then journaled into a trading account owned by the private capital groups.

However, unlike retail accounts, you are in essence using supplemental capital provided by the capital group's to leverage your own equity and receive full daytrading permissions and a minimum of 10:1 equivalent intraday leverage and 4:1 overnight leverage for trading of all marginable NYSE, NASDAQ, and AMEX stocks and are able to open an account with as little as $5,000.

For more details on the comparisons and advantages of sub-contractor trading v.s. standard online trading, please click here or contact a WTC client representative at 1-866-473-5069.

HOW DO I RECEIVE SUCH A HIGH AMOUNT OF LEVERAGE WITH MY SUB-CONTRACTOR ACCOUNT?

Sub-contractor trading accounts use a combination of trader equity and supplemental capital provided by our affiliate private capital firms to increase base capital to a level that equals 25% of the total required intraday buying power required by the trader.

For example; If a trader deposits $10,000 into his/her sub-contractor account and requests a total of $150,000 of intraday buying power, the total base equity in the account must equal 25% of the total buying power, which in this case equals = $37,500.  Since the trader is providing $10,000 of their own capital, to reach the $37,500 amount, they will require $27,500 of supplemental capital from the private capital group.

Buying Power Required: $150,000
25% Margin Maintenance Requirement: $37,500 (25% of Buying Power)

Trader Deposit: $10,000
Supplemental Firm Capital: $27,500

Total Account Equity: $37,500

Trader capital is held in the sub-contractor account as "risk capital" just as it would be with a normal online trading account and traders are only responsible for losses equal to, but not greater than the amount of capital they have in their account.  Click here for more details and examples of leverage and buying power calculations.
